Comparison
Speak app alternatives: how Cuenook compares
Speak, Praktika, Loora, Talkpal and Gliglish are AI tutors: you talk with an AI and it answers, guides or corrects you. Cuenook does something narrower. You prepare the exact thing you need to say, rehearse it out loud or on camera, and record better takes until it sounds natural. Which one fits depends on what you need.
What each one is for
| App | What it says it is | How you practise |
|---|---|---|
| Speak | “The language learning app that gets you speaking” | Lessons on everyday phrases, repetition, then conversation with an AI tutor; web, iOS and Android; 7-day free trial |
| Praktika | “Learn and speak new languages with AI tutors” | Conversations with AI tutor avatars in the App Store and Google Play apps |
| Loora | “Your very own AI English tutor” | Conversation on any topic with real-time feedback on pronunciation and grammar; iPhone and Android |
| Talkpal | “An AI-powered language tutor” for 130+ languages | Call, sentence, word and dialogue modes, roleplays and debates |
| Gliglish | “Learn languages by speaking with AI” | Talk to an AI teacher and roleplay real-life situations in the browser; free plan of 10 minutes a day |
| Cuenook | English speaking practice for real conversations | Prepare a script, record voice or camera takes of the same script, listen back and try again; web, nine interface languages |

When Cuenook is the better fit
- You know what you have to say: an interview answer, a presentation, a phone call, a point in a meeting.
- You want to hear and watch yourself say it, take after take, rather than chat freely.
- You want ready scripts at your level, in British or American English, to read out loud.
When another app may suit you better
- You want open conversation with an AI that answers you: the AI tutors above do that, Cuenook does not.
- You want pronunciation or fluency scores: Cuenook does not score you.
- You want an app from the App Store or Google Play: Cuenook runs in the browser for now.
