Day one on the team call
Hi everyone, I'm Elif. I'm really pleased to join the team. Can you all hear me OK? Great. Sorry about the noise, there's a dog barking outside.
My role is junior designer, so I'll be working on the new website project with Sam and Lucy. Before this, I was at a small agency in Istanbul, and I mostly designed apps.
I'm based in London, but I'm working from home this week. Outside work, I love climbing and very spicy food. Please be patient with my questions. I'll have a lot! Thanks for the warm welcome. I can't wait to work with you all.

The new manager says hello
Good morning, everyone. Let me introduce myself. I'm Marco, and I'm the new manager of the sales team.
A bit about my background: I studied business in Milan, and I have eight years of experience in sales, mostly in fashion. I moved here last month with my wife and two very loud kids. We're still looking for a good bakery, so please send me tips.
My goals for this year are simple: listen first, learn how you work, and then make things easier, not harder. My door is always open, and I'm not scary, I promise. I'm really looking forward to meeting each of you this week.

Doris and Gerald the tomato
Hello, everybody. My name is Doris, and I'm seventy-two. I'm very pleased to join the garden group today. Thank you for the biscuits. I had three.
My experience? Fifty years of tomatoes. My husband says I talk to them. It's true, and they listen, because they're very big. I was a teacher before, so I can also talk to twenty children at the same time. That might help on Saturdays.
My goals are simple. First, a bigger greenhouse. Second, no more bugs. Third, a tea break at eleven. I'm looking forward to working with you all. Now, who wants to hold my tomato? It's called Gerald.

The dragon builder
Hi, everyone. Let me introduce myself. I'm Tolga, Zeynep's dad, from Year Four. This is my first parents' meeting, and I'm a little nervous, so I'm holding a biscuit.
My background is in engineering. I build bridges. Real ones, with cars on them. So when the school play needs a dragon, I'm your man. My role in the team? Dragon builder. I have a big box and a glue gun.
The project starts on Monday. I'm going to need three helpers, forty boxes and a lot of tape. Zeynep says the dragon must breathe fire. I said no. She said, "Dad." So now I'm reading the fire safety rules. See you all on Monday.
