Grandma, I know you don't understand my job, so let me try again.

I work for an online shop that sells plants. I'm responsible for the customer service team. That means when a customer has a problem, like a dead cactus, my team helps them. Sometimes we send a new plant, and sometimes we just explain how to water it!

Every morning we have a short meeting, and I tell everyone what's important that day. My manager is in Berlin, so I talk to her on video calls. Yes, Grandma, through the computer. No, she can't see you. Well, she can now. Say hello!

This week is crazy at work. We have a huge deadline on Friday, and nothing is ready. It's a new app for a big client, and they want it perfect.

Half my colleagues are ill, and the other half are remote, so it's just me and Priya in the office. Yesterday I did three hours of overtime, and I'm doing the same tonight.

And on Thursday I have to give a presentation to the whole company. In English! So no drinks this week, sorry. But next Friday, I'm all yours. Save me a seat! And order me something big. I'll be hungry.

So, what do I do? I'm the manager of a pizza restaurant in Leeds. Yes, really. It's more difficult than it sounds. I'm responsible for twelve people, the food, the money and one very angry oven.

My team is great. My colleagues are like a second family, a loud one. But the customers are the best part. Last week a man asked for a pizza with no cheese. Then he asked for a pizza with no tomato. Then he asked for bread.

Anyway, enough about work. Shall we order? I'm not cooking tonight. Tonight I'm just a customer, and I'm going to complain about everything.

Mum, guess what? My company says I can work remote from now on! No train, no coffee queue, no Gary from accounts. Just me, my laptop and the cat. Well, the cat has opinions.

Yesterday I had an important meeting online. It was the big presentation for the new client. In the middle of my talk, the cat walked across my keyboard and sent a message to everyone. It said "ffffffff". My boss laughed so much.

The only problem is the deadline on Friday. At home I never stop. Yesterday I did two hours of overtime and I didn't notice, because I'm already in my pyjamas. Anyway, I'm going to make some tea. Say hello to Dad. Love you!
